Umm, not dirty pool.
The only person involved in the incident, producer Nicolas Chartier, did not know the rules when he sent the mass mailings and was banned from attending the ceremonies accordingly. They didn't just ban him because he was playing dirty. They banned him because he broke the rules. People who get a speeding ticket don't get out of it, just because they don't know what the posted speed limit is. If you read up on it, it really wasn't a big deal and he still gets his statue. I don't know where you heard that the movie is two years old. It was first released in Venice Film Festival in Sept. '08. It wasn't released in the US until March '09, at SXSW. When it comes to films, I pay no attention to the mainstream press. Much like you don't when it comes to politics. The list of awards for that film go all the way back to '08. And it has won well over 100 awards since its release. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887912/awards And as I say to others, don't listen to what others tell you to believe. Go see it for yourself, then make up your mind. It's makes no sense to pan a movie you haven't watched. |
