How can the former #1 team be the worst team Barnes has had at Texas?

I guess a little of it has to do with being over-rated to begin with.

Let's look at next year....

James, Pittman, Mason gone

Let's say Bradley and Hamilton bolt to the NBA....we know they're not ready but money talks and we've seen it happen in the past

JC Brown transfers due to attitude with Barnes

So next year, we have Hill, Chapman, Balbay, Lucas, Johnson, Wangmene, Ward, Williams and the incoming freshman Thompson and others.

Next year's team may not win 15 games with that lineup.

I hope Hamilton is gone, He is a selfish, shoot first and shoot often player.

It's been a good long while since Texas put out a team in a major sport that was such an embarrassment to the burnt orange.

The last time this many people did not give a crap about Texas basketball, Bob Weltlich was the coach.

For the young ones that don't remember "Kaiser Bob," he was a Deloss Dodds special. This fellow ran off so many players that we had to literally suit up a male cheerleader! And aggy thinks they have a "twelfth man" tradition!

As far as embarrasing teams, Augie's first few teams reeked pretty badly, and who can forget the "Route 66" football season?

The good news is all our kids still have their NBA dreams intact. And that's what they're here for.

Here's what's scary--the only guy Baylor loses is Tweety Carter.

Count me as one that thinks Hamilton will be a good player for us.
Avery need to play like he does when he won the dunk contest.

Next year's team will have to run, run, run.

Our biggest "problem" is Barnes preaches defense first (ala J'Covan on the bench), and when we don't play any good D, then we're not going to be able to play any good offense.

Barnes has GOT TO preach O and D equally, otherwise, we are going to get run out of Baylor's, Kansas', and Mizzou's gym every year from here on out.
Sorry, but that's the way it is. Until we get an outside assassin (like James Anderson, LaceDarius, Sloan) that don't miss. That's what has KILLED us for the past 2 years. And yes AJ was off in that department last year too.

I think our problems are deeper.

A couple years back they interviewed Big 12 recruits, asking them what they liked and didn't like on the recruiting trail. A couple said there was one coach that was all about the NBA and what he could do to get them there.

Really turned them off.

Unfortunately, I think we all know how that coach was now. It was our guy. He's coaching to put kids in the league. It works to an extent, with the right guys, but not with this team.

It's a same too, because James, Mason and Johnson are busting their asses every night.

Rick Barnes is having one bad year and you guys want to fire him.

He's brought your team to another level since he's been there.

spoiled a$$ brats

It's less about this one bad year.

I really, truly do not want to hear that we are just an NBA stepping stone.

He either needs to clarify that shit or leave.

I like Barnes. But he is part of the problem. I don't know about that "NBA first" crap, and don't care on the one hand. But I do want a coach who knows how to coach other than to say play hard on defense and knock down some shots. It ain't that easy when playing against teams with equal talent. Having only one guy moving on the offensive end of the court is pretty flipping easy to defend.

Pittman is a joke. He's been here four years and he has zero offensive skills other than the wide open dunk. Yeah, he's lost alot of weight and all that, but that's not coaching. That's personal training.

I wonder how many times Barnes has to lose to a team before he tries something different. Four? Five? 10? Pull your head out of your ass, Barnes. This team clearly was overrated, and I love the Baylor team. They got players. But losing by double digits isn't OK. Drew coached circles around you. Go to some coaching clinics this summer and try to learn something to apply to our anemic, pathetic, middle-school offense.
